Open An Account
In April of 2010 we began looking into opening a small business checking account. We went to our local bank and asked what the requirements were for such an account. Tom and I had to go to the county building and apply for an "Assumed Name" which is another phrase for a DBA or "doing business as". The cost for this was $13.00 and we received our certificate in the mail about 10 days later. We were legal owners of Precision Truck Service in Park City, KY. It was an overwhelming excitement. Certificate in hand we went back to the bank to open our new small business checking account complete with our first check to deposit. We opened a free checking for Precision and had our starter checks. We were on our way to success. I would say it was a week later and we had deposited our first ten payments from our new customers. I was organizing a system to keep track of the accounting, which I found out at tax time needs a little revamping. With our first few weeks of hard work we were able to start buying some additional tools for our service trailer. I will back up even farther with my next post and tell you all about the service trailer. Stay tuned!
