Air compressor compartment
This is a photo of the front of the service trailer before we finished the OSB exterior. As I said in the earlier post, we built a separate space just for the air compressor. This air compressor has an 18 hp Briggs and Straton engine, 50 gallon air tank, electric start, and puts out 190psi. This thing is old but it runs like a champ and is very dependable. It is big and powerful. It is just what we needed for Emergency Road Service for trucks and trailers. A very good investment.

Building a dream.....
This photo was taken on November 7th, 2009. Tom had gotten the air compressor that you can see from one of his clients. We paid $500 worth of work for it. Pretty good deal if you ask me. I will come back to the compressor in a few minutes. We used 2x3x8 lumber from Lowe's and commenced to building a structure on top our our trailer. For a diesel mechanic and a housewife we didn't do too bad. You can see the '79 in front of the trailer if you know what you are looking at. I have provided a link on the page if you would like to read about the Truck Project. That web address is bigblockfords.blogspot.com and I encourage you to check it out. I am actively blogging on that blog as well as this one. So back to the air-compressor now. It is in the trailer because it is getting built into the front of the trailer. It will be completely separate from the work area of the trailer. This is to avoid the noise and exhaust as much as possible. The entire trailer is to have lots of gadgets to make emergency road service repairs easier on the mechanic. Stay tuned for more soon........
We Had a Business Meeting......
Some time in Mid October, 2009 Tom and I sat down and started making lists! We talked about almost everything we would have to do to start our very own Emergency Road Service. We discussed the service trailer, and the 1979 Ford F-250 which would tow this service trailer. Tom made a list of tools we were going to have to buy, and I made a list of advertising methods. This meeting was a few days long. Almost any chance we had we were talking about Precision Truck Service. We had business cards and Now Open business card holders to hang in various strategic location. Tom was working for a small local automotive shop and every week in Mid October through Early November, 2009, we would spend as much as we could on the construction of our service trailer. The center for all of the excitement and the revenue.

Open An Account
In April of 2010 we began looking into opening a small business checking account. We went to our local bank and asked what the requirements were for such an account. Tom and I had to go to the county building and apply for an "Assumed Name" which is another phrase for a DBA or "doing business as". The cost for this was $13.00 and we received our certificate in the mail about 10 days later. We were legal owners of Precision Truck Service in Park City, KY. It was an overwhelming excitement. Certificate in hand we went back to the bank to open our new small business checking account complete with our first check to deposit. We opened a free checking for Precision and had our starter checks. We were on our way to success. I would say it was a week later and we had deposited our first ten payments from our new customers. I was organizing a system to keep track of the accounting, which I found out at tax time needs a little revamping. With our first few weeks of hard work we were able to start buying some additional tools for our service trailer. I will back up even farther with my next post and tell you all about the service trailer. Stay tuned!
